LOTAR Basic & Common Parts WG

Goals and Objectives

The objective of the Basic and Common Parts Working Group, much like that of the LOTAR Project Objective, is to develop, publish and maintain standards designed to provide the capability to archive, manage, and retrieve product and technical information in an open neutral form that can be read, interpreted, and reused throughout the product lifecycle, independent of changes in the IT application environment originally used to author it.

The specific goal of the Basic and Common Parts Working Group is focused on the fundamental and conceptual process methodologies of long-term preservation of digital product and technical data.
