A new version of the LOTAR Part 001, which defines and explains the structure of the EN/NAS 9300 family of standards, has been published by ASD-STAN in Europe and AIA in the US. This is the first update of this basic document since the initial release of the standard. In addition to considering changed legal boundary conditions, such as European regulations for electronic identification which have been issued since the first version of Part 001 was published, the LOTAR Basic and Common Process Parts Workgroup updated the majority of the document to reflect the vastly grown scope of the LOTAR project and the significant number of EN/NAS 9300 standard documents published over the past 10+ years.

The document now includes all domains covered by the LOTAR Project, i.e., 3D Mechanical CAD with PMI (9300-1xx), PDM (9300-2xx), Composites and Advanced Manufacturing (9300-3xx), Electrical Wiring Harness (9300-4xx), MBSE (9300-5xx) as well as Engineering Analysis and Simulation (9300-6xx), and lists all part currently published or in advanced stages of creation in these domains.
